NASCAR returns to dirt for the first time in 51 years at Bristol. Who wins and who fails to conquer?

The 2021 NASCAR Cup season has gotten really exciting. We had Michael McDowell win his first ever cup race in the Daytona 500 after starting in 357 races, Christopher Bell winning his first ever cup race on the Daytona Road Course, the second win in William Byron's career at Homestead, and the return of Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr. and Ryan Blaney to victory lane. And now this weekend we get to see the top drivers in the cup series race at Bristol Motor Speedway not on asphalt but on dirt. This will be the NASCAR Cup Series first return to in 51 years. The last time they held a race on dirt was in 1970 at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds where NASCAR Legend Richard Petty won the race. NASCAR had its first dirt race back in 1949 at Charlotte Speedway and continued have dirt races on the NASCAR Cup schedule till 1970. The driver with the most dirt races won in the cup series was Richard Petty's father Lee Petty who won 42 races on dirt during his NASCAR career. The King Richard Petty won 30 dirt races included in his 200 wins as a NASCAR Cup Series driver. 76 different drivers have won on dirt but this Sunday that number will change, so it's time for my pick to win race and who will struggle the most. Chase Elliott I believe has the best chance at winning the race. Elliott the defending cup series champion has had a semi slow start to the season but that might change this Sunday with a win at Bristol on dirt because there will be carnage at Bristol and Chase Elliott will be able to avoid all the carnage to get his first win this season and his ticket punched into the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Now the driver that I believe that will struggle in this race is Kyle Busch because if you look at his stats right now he has had 1 top 10 and 2 top 5s this season and had failed to make top 10 or top 5 three times and if you ask me he is starting to struggle a bit. So unless he has a plan to conquer this dirt track I don't see Kyle Busch having a nice day at Bristol. So those are my predictions for this Sunday and this is going to be one epic race and believe me anything can happen at Bristol Motor Speedway whether their racing on asphalt or dirt the thing we know is that sparks will fly. Catch the Food City Dirt Race this Sunday at 3:30 ET 12:30 PT on FOX.
